NUG Acting President Duwa Lashi La conveyed his complete assurance that Arakan State will be freed from military rule shortly. 

He issued this remark in a congratulatory message on December 21, 2024, after the Arakan Army's (AA) successful takeover of the Western Command. 

The communication expressed pride and happiness over the seizure of the Western Command on December 20, 2024, crediting the triumph to the bravery and relentless work of comrades led by the leaders of the Arakan Army (AA). 

"This win signifies not just a success for the Arakan community, but also for all citizens of Myanmar and the resistance groups nationwide who are combating the military regime and seeking federal democracy. It is a triumph that has elevated the revolutionary spirit to its peak," the statement read. 

NUG Acting President Duwa Lashi La emphasized that the leadership of the Arakan Army (AA) leaders, the sacrifices of their fellow fighters, and the determination and unity of the Arakan people in facing numerous challenges are all recorded and celebrated, together with the sacrifices made to attain this significant victory. 

The communication additionally emphasized that the takeover of two regional military commands by resistance forces in Myanmar in 2024 represented a significant triumph, indicating that the end of the terrorist junta is approaching. 

The message conveys complete assurance that the whole Arakan State will soon be freed from the military regime under the guidance of Arakan Army (AA) leaders and emphasizes the resolve to come together in the struggle to eliminate the military dictatorship and regime, aiming for the liberation of all Myanmar and its citizens.
