The Arakan Army (AA) has seized the Goke See tower outpost camp in Padan, a border region between Ann Township in Arakan State and Ngape Township in Magway Region, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of junta soldiers.
A military source reported to Narinjara News that the AA captured the Goke See tower outpost camp, referred to as Microwave camp, on the night of February 2, confiscating weapons and ammunition.
"It was taken last night. The junta forces experienced significant losses, and their weapons and ammunition were captured," the source stated.
A male local acquainted with the military scenario informed Narinjara News that certain junta soldiers are now withdrawing to the Nat Yae Kan tactical operation command, the closest military base to the Goke See tower outpost camp.
"I estimate about 200 bodies, although I cannot confirm it. Numerous conscripts within the fighting ranks have died, and some have fled instead of engaging in combat," he stated.
Narinjara News is currently trying to contact AA spokesman U Khaing Thukha for a statement on the takeover of the tower outpost camp in Goke See village, since the AA has not released any comments about the occupation.
On January 31, the AA initiated an assault on units of the 99th Light Infantry Division, which had established a defensive stance close to Goke See village.
The battalions of the 99th Division are said to be protecting the junta's arms manufacturing plants (KaPaSa) in the Magway Region and the Ann-Padan road linking Arakan State with the Magway Region.
