Junta troops carried out airstrikes close to Nang Tet village in Kyauktaw Township, Arakan State, resulting in the death of a young woman and injuries to four others.
The victim, a woman in her twenties, was hit by shrapnel while she was working in a chili farm.
Additionally, four other individuals collaborating with her in the field sustained injuries.
The airstrikes hit the former free computer training school, known as 'Future Target,' situated near the Nang Tet Buddhist ordination hall, located between Kyaung Pho and Kauk Kyit villages in Kyauktaw Township. The junta air force executed two airstrikes with fighter jets, taking place ten minutes apart at 4:00 PM on February 9.
A nearby resident informed Narinjara News that the airstrikes resulted in the death of a young woman in the chili field and injured four additional people.
"At 4:00 pm yesterday, junta forces conducted two airstrikes using fighter aircraft. A young woman lost her life, and four others sustained injuries," the resident reported.
Narinjara News is presently unable to acquire the names, ages, and addresses of the deceased and injured because of poor phone line quality.
A military expert informed Narinjara News that locals must stay more alert, as the junta has been carrying out daily airstrikes on areas held by the Arakan Army (AA).
"The military analyst stated, 'We need to be more vigilant than before and refrain from being negligent, as the junta may attack additional regions held by the AA if the conflict intensifies in Sittwe.'"
On February 8, the junta carried out airstrikes in the AA-held Gwa and Rathedaung townships of Arakan State, resulting in one death, injuring six individuals, and damaging multiple houses.
