The Arakan Army (AA) has taken control of multiple key hills close to the Nat Yae Kan tactical operations command, situated along the Ann-Padan road at the Magway Region and Arakan State border.
A regional military source informed Narinjara News that the AA has recently taken control of hills close to the Nat Yae Kan tactical operations command, as well as the vicinity where junta troops are positioned in Lin Te village, situated beneath the command.
“Recently the AA has taken control of hills near the Nat Yae Kan summit and locations where junta troops were located in Lin Te village," the source reported.
The hills taken by the AA had once acted as the primary defenses against the Nat Yae Kan tactical operations command.
The AA has not provided any details about the capture, so Narinjara News has contacted AA spokesperson U Khaing Thuha for a statement.
Following the capture of these regions, the AA has moved to the summit of the mountain where the Nat Yae Kan tactical operations command is located.
In the meantime, numerous military units from Magway, dispatched to support the Nat Yae Kan tactical operations command, have disintegrated and retreated after being confronted by the AA and resistance fighters, as reported by a male local who informed Narinjara News.
"The military columns fell apart and retreated as the AA and resistance troops encircled and assaulted them," the source stated.
The source indicated that the AA is presently assaulting the camp, which is reinforced with artillery positions and jammers atop Nat Yae Kan, while the junta forces are mainly depending on drones and airstrikes.
“The junta is utilizing additional drones and carrying out airstrikes. The combat continues to be fierce, and they are sending in additional troops," he stated.
Recently, the junta has dispatched numerous reinforcements from Magway to the Nat Yae Kan front line via Padan and Sone Kone.
Military officials state that the Nat Yae Kan tactical operations base is significant in obstructing the AA and resistance groups from accessing the junta's arms manufacturing factories (KaPaSa) located in the Magway Region.
