India.com states that India is vigilantly observing the developments in Sittwe, the capital of Arakan State, a crucial military target for the Arakan Army (AA). 

India is keeping a close watch on the situation in Sittwe and the arrival of Lieutenant General Joel JB Vowell, a high-ranking US military official, along with his team in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on the night of March 24.

India.com also states that Sittwe, the capital of Arakan State, is a crucial military target for the Arakan Army (AA), emphasizing that the Arakan region is particularly important from India's viewpoint. 

The enhancement of Sittwe Port is an essential component of the Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project (KMTTP), a significant effort designed to serve as a multi-modal transport corridor along the Kaladan River connecting India and Myanmar. 

As reported by India.com, the initiative seeks to link the inland states of India, such as Mizoram, to the area via Sittwe Port. 

In this context, India.com additionally stated that India is keeping a close eye on events in Sittwe. 

On the night of March 24, a delegation consisting of four members, headed by Lieutenant General Joel 'JB' Vowell, Deputy Commanding General of the Hawaii-based United States Pacific Command (USARPAC), reached Dhaka International Airport at approximately 10:00 pm.

The delegation conducted talks with high-ranking Bangladeshi military personnel about the security circumstances at the Bangladeshi border. They also investigated the possible outcomes of a significant attack by the Arakan Army (AA) focused on seizing the towns of Sittwe, Kyaukphyu, and Manaung.
