Reports indicate that junta forces have launched an attack in certain areas held by the Arakan Army (AA) in Kyaukphyu Township, Rakhine State, with the aid of artillery.
A military source on site informed Narinjara, “The troops airlifted from Yangon, the troops transported by the Navy, the troops from the Kyaukphyu Army, all were assembled in the first battalion of the 542nd Infantry Regiment. Next, they were dispatched to the 543rd Infantry Regiment. Subsequently, they split into three columns and moved toward the areas held by the AA. They moved towards certain regions close to the primary police battalion (32). The Dhanyawady Navy further advanced in a single column”.
Following that, there were some confrontations occurring between AA and junta forces as the routes the military pursued entered the areas held by the Arakan Army, resulting in reciprocal gunfire, he stated.
Reports indicate that the military council is significantly resupplying reinforcements from Yangon to Kyaukphyu via air and also transporting them by naval vessels.
"The military is significantly reinforcing itself. The majority of them are individuals who have received training as civilians in accordance with public service laws. Hundreds of soldiers, comprising senior officers, perished, and many troops abandoned their posts. That's the reason they are reinforcing their troops with soldiers recruited from mainland Burma," he stated.
Although the military council has prolonged the ceasefire for an additional month from June 1 to 30, the junta army has encroached upon the territory controlled by the AA, and the military is employing paramotors, drones, and heavy weaponry, including naval and air support, to assault AA, according to a local source.
The military council is exploiting the ceasefire to conduct unilateral assaults. The AA side has honored its pledge to cease combat, yet the army has increased its firing following the ceasefire. The military launched attacks. Additionally, they are assaulting the AA using multiple advanced weapons. The global community, along with China, ought to observe how the junta will conduct warfare in Kyauk Phyu.
The military council has established positions in factories and enterprises linked to China, including Malakyun village along the Gong Ching village route, to engage in combat with AA.
Residents in the area reported that military activities are also taking place in Prisae Kay village, close to Police Battalion No. 32.
The Dhanyawady Navy Headquarters also deployed forces in Sai Khong, Chauk Chaung, and Kap Tha Pyay regions close to their base and sent troops to attack AA-held areas with heavy weaponry, leading to confrontations with the AA between Kap Tha Pyay and Pyar Te village on June 3.
