Following tip-offs from village administrators, the Myanmar military council deserters who fled during the ongoing fight with the Arakan Army (AA) in Ye Kyi Township, Ayeyarwady Region, were recaptured.
The Special Information Unit-Pathein reports that just eight of the 16 Myanmar military council deserters who fled the battle on June 12 made it to freedom, while the others were brought back after village leaders gave tips.
According to reports, U Myint Htay, the Thapyay Ai village administrator, and Aye Saung, the Zarat Hla administrator, informed the police station and artillery Battalion No. (344) of the deserters who had come to the area, and the eight deserters were later apprehended.
Likewise, on June 22, 15 deserters from Le Ti Village in Ye Kyi Township arrived, and they begged for food from the residence while renting a cab. The locals informed Aung Win, the head of the Kyon Padok administration, and the police and military council officers apprehended them at the junction of Aithapyu Road and the entrance of the Pan Taw Gyi Bridge.
The artillery Battalion No (344) is now located in the lower side of Sa San U region, close to Nga Thaing Chaung, where the military council and the Arakan Army are engaged in combat. The junta forces are getting ready to fortify the troops in Nga Thaing Chaung.
