According to local media reports, the Bangladesh security force (BGB) has taken 90,000 Yaba pills from two women and 120,000 Yaba pills from a young man in the Kutupalong Muslim Rohingya refugee camp in the Cox's Bazar district's Okiya township.
During a raid on the two women in Naikhongsari township in the Bandarban district, which is located near the Myanmar border, 90,000 yaba tablets were confiscated on Thursday, June 26.
Golzahar, 33, the wife of the deceased Khairul Bashar, and Kulchuma, 29, the wife of Kamal Hossain, both residents of Block (C) of the UN-run Kutupalong Muslim Refugee Camp in Bandarban, were the two women taken into custody, according to the Bandarban News.
Lt. Col. SM Khairul Alam, the commanding officer of the 34th BGB Battalion, which is headquartered in Cox's Bazar, informed the press that the two women were discovered to be carrying Yaba tablets in their bags as they entered the nation.
He continued by saying that these kinds of raids would persist.
In a similar vein, 120,000 Yaba methamphetamine pills were taken from Md. Shahid, a 19-year-old Muslim refugee, on the morning of June 21.
In the Jamal Ghar neighborhood, the youngster was taken into custody along with 120,000 methamphetamine pills.
According to the report, Shahid, son of Hossain Ahmed, lives in Block (B) (74) of Refugee Camp No. 8, Okiya Township, where he was detained.
When Shahid crossed the border with a bag on his shoulder, a special squad from the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) was carrying out a raid in the area based on a tip-off. He attempted to flee when the BGB members summoned him for questioning. According to the article, the BGB members pursued him, inspected the bag, and discovered 120,000 methamphetamine pills.
He has been turned over to the police station, and a case has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act.
