The terrorist Military Council forces sustained significant losses in the fighting that occurred in Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region, and Myaing Township, Magway Region, between the People's Defense Forces (PDF) and the junta forces, and several soldiers were taken prisoner, including an official with the rank of major.
According to the Shwebo District PDF battalions, the PDF assaulted and seized the Pyu camp in Hinthagyi village and three military junta strategic hills close to the town of Kyauk Myaung in the Sagaing Region's Shwebo Township for three days, from July 4 to July 7.
According to a news release with a photo, the deputy battalion commander of the Military Council, Major Chan Lwin Maung, was taken prisoner during the fighting along with arms and ammunition.
The attack was a combined operation by Shwebo District's sister battalions: Shwebo District Battalions 15, 18, 23, 26, 1701, 9706, Brave Brothers (local PDF), Circuit (4) Shwe Bo Kyar Gyi (Pakapha).
The PDF carried out a similar assault on a military council camp on the Myaing-Pakokku highway in Magway Division on July 9, taking it into custody.
According to the Red Dragon Special Operations Command (RASOC) statement, the Red Dragon Army captured 12 members of the military council, 13 weapons, and ammunition during the battle, and took them as prisoners of war.
From 4:30 a.m. on July 9, the PDF began an assault on the military council camp of the planning office in eastern Myaing town.
The statement stated that the military council carried out two aerial bombings of the camp, but that at about 7 p.m. the camp was taken.
Police Superintendent Thaung Htwe Soe, Police Warrant Officer Htun Min Zaw, Police Corporal Zaw Win Naing, Police Lance Corporal Tin Myo Htun, Police Constables Zaw Naing, Ye Yint Aung, and Than Toe Aung, Police Lance Corporal Min Min Htun, Police Constable Min Min Zaw, Police Lance Corporal Thet Ko Ko, Police Corporal U Htun, and Police Constable Myo Naing Win were among those taken alive during the battle.
The statement stated that the confiscated weapons included 9 hand grenades, six 79 mm rounds, 5 hats, 3 phones, 7 electronic gadgets, 136 G3 bullets, 37 5.56 mm rounds, 15 G3 magazines, 2 MA magazines, 10 G3 rifles, 1 MA3 rifle, 1 MA4 rifle, one 79 mm gun, and MMK 22 lakhs in cash.
It was discovered during the conflict that one PDF soldier died for the nation and six more were wounded.
The Myaing Unity Army (9+), The Zamani Guerilla Forces, Good Brother, Anya Hero Artillery Group, Joker Guerilla Forces (Drones), Kendo (Drones), the Anyar Myay Guerilla Forces (Drones), Burma Revolution Ranger (BRR), the NFTA, Scorpion People Defense Force, and Monywa District Battalion 8 all participated in the conflict jointly.
