The vital military base of Ukrit Hta on the Thai-Myanmar border was taken on Saturday by the KNLA-led joint forces.

The KNLA-led forces are also launching a full-scale assault on the Wawlay military base, another important remaining base.

Since early July, the revolutionary forces led by the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA.) have been simultaneously assaulting the strategically important Ukrit Hta military base and Wawlay military base on the Thai-Myanmar border, which are crucial for junta troops on the eastern border with Thailand.

The KNU-Central declared on July 13 that the KNLA-led joint forces had successfully taken the Ukrit Hta military camp, one of two camps, on July 12.

"The Ukrit Hta military camp on the Thai-Burma border in Myawaddy Township, Karen State, was captured by the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) led joint forces," the statement reads.

A 60-mm machine gun, MA1, MA2, MA3, MA4, a carp fish tail (nickname for a heavy machine gun), and a commando mortar were among the numerous weapons and ammunition confiscated during the camp's capture.

Additionally, a large quantity of grenades, bullets, magazines, and ammunition was taken.

According to the KNU statement, the junta soldiers gave up their weapons and fled to Thailand.

The Cobra 1st Column Battalion (2), the People's Defense Force (PDF) Tactical No. 32, and the Karen National Defense Force (KNDO) all worked together to launch assaults on the Ukrit Hta military base.

Local news reports suggest that the KNLA-led coalition is persistently assaulting the Wolay camp, and there are currently just two outposts left south of Myawaddy on the Thai border: the Htee Thae Le outpost and the Wawlay strategic camp.

The junta lobbyists are seen in a video clip claiming that the situation at Wawlay camp is also getting worse and will soon collapse.

According to the Karen News Agency (KIC), the military council has been bombing the Wawlay region, where the combat is heavy, and at least 3,000 locals have fled the area.

The military propaganda film "Living Wall" was filmed in the former KNU camp of Ukrit Hta on the Thai border for more than twenty years. The camp is now under the sole control of the KNLA.

The Htee Kaplai camp, close to the Thai-Burma border, was taken by the KNU/KNLA on June 22, and Ukrit Hta camp was attacked and captured on July 12.
