According to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), nearly 7,000 civilians and pro-democracy campaigners were killed between February 1, 2021, when the Burmese army seized power, and July 18, 2025.
Yesterday, July 18, the AAPP reported that the military junta and its henchmen had killed a total of (6,974) pro-democracy activists and citizens during the Spring Revolution.
Furthermore, (10,884) of those detained have been given jail sentences, and (22,184) are still in custody out of the (29,405) individuals who were taken into custody overall.
Given the data that AAPP has, the actual number of deaths on the ground may be higher than these figures.
In the Magway Region, from January 1 to July 18 in 2025, there were (143) fatalities, including (47) women and (96) men, as well as (23) children under the age of 18.
The military council's airstrikes killed (75) of the (143) individuals, while artillery bombardment claimed the lives of (20).
