A fleet of military council warships was targeted by the People's Defense Forces (PDF) Mandalay as they proceeded up the Ayeyarwady River.
On July 20, the People's Defense Forces (Mandalay) reported that the strike had destroyed one ship and set three others ablaze.
According to the announcement, the vessel that sank was a tugboat carrying weapons and ammunition, while the warship and two other tugs sustained fire damage.
The People's Defense Forces (Mandalay) assaulted a convoy of military council ships on July 17 that had departed from Gaw Wein Port in Mandalay and were travelling up the Ayeyarwady River; the fleet consisted of 14 vessels, including five navy boats.
The strikes occurred in Singu Township, Madaya, and Thabeikkyin Township.
The military council vessels were wrecked and destroyed during these assaults.
According to the statement, the People's Defense Army (Mandalay) was able to deliver such a devastating blow despite continuous bombardment with jet fighters and Mi-35s, as the warships advanced upstream while the military council utilized Y-12 aircraft with intense bombardment along the river.
