Rain and water erosion have exposed an ancient stone throne of Vasundhara in the culturally diverse Rakhine (Arakan) state.
Wai Hin Aung, a writer and social worker who worked with philanthropists for Arakanese IDPs, claimed that the ancient throne with a statue of Vasundhara was discovered in July on the way to the Selagiri Maurapata (also known as Kyauktaw Mountain) in Kyauktaw.
"The precise date is unknown, but it was discovered in July. The era in which it was created is still unknown," he stated.
Additionally, on his social media profile, he verified that "an ancient stone throne with a statue of Vasundhara was found in the ground on the way to the Selagiri Maurapata (aka Kyauktaw Mountain) pagoda."
"Among the ancient Rakhine thrones, the stone throne with the statue of Vasundhara is a rare ancient stone carving," it stated.
Additional excavation is necessary at the location where the stone throne was once surrounded by a fence.
In Arakan (Rakhine), many ancient cultural artifacts are excavated from the ground, the majority of which are connected to religion.
