One junta soldier was killed and another injured when a grenade exploded in Kyauk Pandhu army outpost during a quarrel between the soldiers at the sentry post of the military camp.

The incident took place around 2 pm on Tuesday after an argument between the soldiers broke out.

A source close to the army informed Narinjara News that among the soldiers, who were seriously injured in the explosion, one died at Maungdaw hospital.

"During the guard duty hours, an argument took place and suddenly a grenade exploded. I don't know how it happened. Two soldiers were seriously injured. One was treated at the camp, but the other one was taken to the hospital at around 4 pm, where he succumbed to injuries,” he added.

It is quite impossible to contact the military council regarding the incident for authentication as no information is made available from their end.

Such incidents of infighting among junta soldiers often take place.

On 6 January last, an incident was reported from Dom Nyo border guard station in northern Maungdaw township, where one threw a hand grenade into a group of soldiers who were playing cards and it resulted in killing of two lieutenant sergeants namely Thet Tun and Ling Lin along with injuring five others.
