4 family members, including 2 women, murdered in Sittwe

Four members of a family, including two women, were murdered in Pallin Pyin Muslim village under Sittwe township.

The incident took place at around 8 am on Tuesday. The victims have been identified as U Bordi Raman (35 years old), Daw Fa Tay Bakhatu (55), U Bo Sira Mak (36) and Daw Ali Makhatu (37).

"All victims are family members. I heard there was an inheritance problem among the family members. Six people are suspected to commit the crime," said Thagyi Phyo from Shwe Young Metta Foundation, which transported the victim bodies to the Sittwe public hospital.

The victims succumbed to injuries on the spot as the injuries were very severe. Meanwhile their bodies were sent to the Sittwe hospital morgue.

"The victims had wounds all over their bodies and they died of severe injuries. We come to know that six perpetrators ran away from the location. They are yet to be caught. The police have already started the probe,” added Thagyi Phyo.
