Myanmar junta has removed navy’s commander-in-chief admiral Moe Aung and commander of eastern command general
Myo Min Tun, said military
reports.
Admiral Moe Aung has been reassigned as an advisor for national security affairs and his place was
filled by chief of naval staff commodore
Zwe Win Myint.
Maj-Gen Myo Min Tun, commander
of eastern command based in Taunggyi, has been transferred to the
foreign ministry. He has been succeeded by commandant of defense services academy major general Zaw Min
Latt.
Colonel Kyaw Soe Lin, formerly deputy commander of the 22nd division, has been promoted to the
position of divisional commander for the 66th division. In another move, the deputy platoon commander of the
8th military operations command
(MOC-8) has been assigned to serve as the
commander of the 55th division.
