Junta forces withdraw from Taung Sauk oil & natural gas pipeline control Station in Ann

The junta forces, who were guarding  Taung Sauk oil & natural gas pipelines control station in the Ann mountain ranges of Rakhine State, have withdrawn recently.

The junta soldiers guarded the pipelines connecting Kyaukphyu with China since the beginning of the coup, but they withdrew on 21 and 22 April, said a local resident.

However, it remains  unclear why the soldiers abandoned the  camp. But it may be related to the fierce clashes going on between the junta soldiers and Arakan Army (AA) members in

Ann locality.

On various occasions however the soldiers deserted their camps and many weaker camps had joined with powerful ones since the Rakhine war erupted.

During Thingyan in Ann, a fierce clash erupted between the two armed groups. The junta safeguarded their bases with the help of army and air force personnel.

The AA and allied forces are now controlling the Ann-Padan road with an aim to prevent soldier’s movement carrying arms & ammunition towards Ann township.

Many innocent Ann residents are now  under the custody of the junta forces and common residents are being ordered to avoid travelling.

The Ann residents are facing hardships under the rule of  junta forces in their survival and livelihood.
