AA launches drone attack on Hla Phoe Khaung and Pyin Phyu border guard stations, Kyee Kan Pyin border guard police headquarters in Maungdaw

The Arakha Army (AA) has been launching drone attacks on Hla Phoe Khaung and Pyin Phyu border guard stations including Kyee Kan Pyin border guard police headquarters located in northern Maungdaw township of Rakhine State since the morning hours of 28 April, said Maungdaw residents.

“The AA fighters  dropped one drone bomb on Pyin Phyu border guard station. Later they dropped two more bombs. In the evening hours, they attacked Hla Phoe Khaung and Kyee Kan Pyin with drone bombs," said a resident.

Despite the ultimatum being given to surrender by raising the white flag, the border guard personnel declined and so the AA fighters launched drone attacks.

Kyee Kan Pyin border guard police headquarters, located a few miles away from Maungdaw has been besieged by the AA fighters since they captured number 7 border guard outpost in Kyein Chaung.

"Initially, we heard that Kyee Kan Pyin border guard police headquarters will surrender. Now, the AA fighters are launching drone bomb attacks. If the soldiers do not surrender, the attacks may continue,” said another local resident.

The AA fighters have completely captured the junta's many border guard stations and tactical operation commands in northern Maungdaw. These include Done Nyo, Taung Pyo Let Wae, Let Yar, Aung Tha Pyay, Kyaung Na Bae, Kha Maung Seik, Taman Thar, Kyein Chaung 24 tactical operator command, Kyein Chaung number 7 border guard outposts, Nga Khu Ya, and Ywet Nyo Taung.

They have also launched an offensive against the remaining Kyee Kan Pyin border guard police headquarters, including Hla Phoe Khaung, Pyin Phyu, and number 2 border guard outpost based at 4-miles in Maungdaw.

The restaurant owners near Maungdaw 4-miles stated that they will have to relocate their restaurants due to the ongoing conflicts.

"We run our families with the help of restaurant businesses. Now it becomes inconvenient for us to run our business entities because of continued artillery shelling. Now drone bombs have also been dropped regularly in our locality,” said a female shopkeeper.

The border guard stations, such as Pyin Phyu, Hla Phoe Khaung and Kyee Kan Pyin border guard police headquarters in Maungdaw are at risk of facing potential attacks by the AA fighters any time.

Since 27 April, the AA fighters had launched the offensive against all junta battalions, including the military operations command (MOC) in Buthidaung locality.
