At least seven Rakhine people, including two young
women, were detained by the junta forces from Yangon's Aung Mingalar highway
bus station on 20 February, said a source close to the detained individuals.
They all hail from Myebon township of Rakhine
State. Three men, approximately 45 years old, were apprehended at around 7 am
on Tuesday, followed by four others at 8 pm on the same day.
Four individuals, detained at Yangon's important bus
station on 20 February, include a 38-year-old man, a 23-year-old boy and
two women (aged 22 each).
"After 8 pm on the day we spoke to them.
But after 9 pm, we were restricted. When we called the driver's number we came
to know that they were arrested. We could contact the driver after 12 am,"
said the source.
Till date, the families of those seven individuals,
are yet to receive any updates about them.
"They were on their way back to the Rakhine
region. They were detained by the soldiers after checking the National
Registration Cards. Their families are worried as they have no clues about the
detainees,” added the source.
