Junta forces airstrikes in Kyaukphyu, villager dies of cardiac arrest, 4 injured



The junta forces on Thursday carried out airstrikes using a jet fighter at Sane town in  Kyaukphyu district of Rakhine State, resulting in the death of a villager due to cardiac arrest. Four others sustained injuries and several houses along with a monastery were damaged.

 

The local residents informed that the junta forces conducted two airstrikes on Sane sub-township at around 3:15 pm on 25 April without any provocation.

 

The victim is identified as U Nyi Pu Chay (aged 56), who hailed from Thit Ka Toe village under  Sane sub-township.



 

"He died of cardiac arrest following the airstrikes. The sound of airstrikes was frightening," said a resident.


The injured individuals  include Maung Soe Naing Tun (20),  Maung Kaung Htet Aung (16), etc, who hail from Lay Pone Kyauk village.

 

Meanwhile, three houses were destroyed in Dway Cha village on 25 April  due to the drone attacks by the junta soldiers.


Residents of Ywar Thit Kay village also suffered casualties from the artillery shell shrapnel, which were fired from the junta's navy barge in Zin Chaung sea.


A former representative of Pyithu Hluttaw from Kyaukphyu locality stated that the soldiers continuously fired artillery shells and conducted airstrikes using jet fighters. They also carried  out drone attacks over the civilians.

 

From 7 am till the evening hours on 25 April, over 50 artillery shells were fired from Taung Maw Gyi camp in Sane sub-township. Additionally, the artillery shells were continuously fired from Thit Poke Taung naval base and navy barge.
