Earlier on 26 December  at 9 pm,  the  Mrauk-U district police station was captured by the AA members. They have recovered a number of dead bodies along with a substantial volume  of weapons, ammunition and other military equipment from those stations.

The bodies, many started decomposing, were properly buried, said the organisation.

Now the AA members are looking for those soldiers who managed to escape from those stations. They assured that those who want to surrender will be treated properly and provided the opportunity to meet their families.

"Operation 1027 was initiated in northern Shan State on 27 October. On 13 November the offensive extended to the front lines of Paletwa and Rakhine regions.

Since the beginning of the operation, the AA and other members of Three Brotherhood Alliance (including MNDAA and TNLA) systematically captured the designated targets in the localities. Some of the targets are fulfilled partially and the efforts are going on to completely capture those cams.

On 26, 27 and 28 December, several designated  targets were fully captured by the  AA members, stated the statement adding that they maintained their commitment to capture the remaining operational targets.
