The Arakan Army (AA) has successfully captured  Tinma Taung Shay mountain tactical operation command base in Kyauktaw township of Rakhine State, following which over 200 soldiers surrendered with numerous weapons, said a statement issued by Three Brotherhood Alliance.

"On 6 January  at around  9 pm all soldiers stationed at Tinma Taung Shay mountain tactical operation command base surrendered to AA members," added the statement.

The statement underscored the need for leaders of tactical operation command bases to promptly grasp the underlying goodwill and make the decision to surrender their weapons.

On the same day the AA members  initiated attacks with the objective of completely seizing the primary strongholds of the junta forces in Paletwa township. The key positions here include the 9th military operations command (MOC-9) and the 11th division, alongside the Mee Wa tactical operation command base situated on the Paletwa-Kyauktaw border.

Simultaneously, the hill-based military camps persistently launched artillery shells towards the Paletwa region  throughout the  day.

The clashes between the AA members and junta forces in Pauktaw township continue to escalate after 6 January, attributing to reinforcement of junta forces from the sea.

After 72 days of the unified operation, Three Brotherhood Alliance reiterated their commitment to capture all remaining tactical operation command bases in the region.
