Over 90 soldiers from Ta Man Thar border guard outpost on western border surrender to AA



 

More than 90 soldiers from  Ta Man Thar border guard outpost in northern Maungdaw surrendered to the Arakan Army (AA) after it was captured by the AA fighters.

 

According to a reliable source, the AA fighters targeted the outpost and soon  40 soldiers led by its commander fled with weapons. Out of them, 29 were captured alive, while the rest died.

 

"Over 90 soldiers from the outpost surrendered at around 12 pm on 25 March,” added the source.

 

Ta Man Thar consists of around 20 houses in the east and 40 in the west Rakhine villages. It’s  located nine miles away from Kyein Chaung in northern Maungdaw. The villagers had already fled their places before the fighting began.

 

In its  24 March statement, the AA revealed its offensive against the outpost. The AA fighters   chased down and eliminated many junta soldiers who fled from the outpost. They also found over 20 bodies along with arms & ammunition.

 

The AA captured  Yan Aung Myin outpost in northern Maungdaw on 23 March, where they recovered the bodies of junta soldiers and also seized military equipment, weapons and ammunition. The outpost is situated to the west of Kyein Chaung.

 

The  AA fighters are currently launching an offensive against Kyein Chaung outpost, which has been partially captured, added the statement.
