10 junta soldiers, fled to Indian side, captured

Ten junta soldiers, who fled to the Indian side from Chin Let Wa camp in Paletwa township of  Chin State, were captured alive, said  Duwun, secretary of Maraland Defense Force (MDF).

 

"Chin Let Wa camp was captured on 2 January. They fled while we were clearing the trail on the way to the Indian border areas on 5 January. 10 soldiers were apprehended. Many went inside India. At least 5 junta soldiers were found dead," he added.

 

The Arakan Army (AA) in a statement revealed that around 104 junta soldiers  fled during the battle on Chin Let Wa camp and continues to be in India with the support from the Assam Rifles.


"Approximately 100 junta soldiers are believed to have fled. As there's a growing trend of them fleeing to the Indian side. We are now enhancing our focus on the Indian border,” he added.

 

The AA successfully captured the junta's Chin Let Wa hill-based camp in Paletwa.


On 28 December, when the AA captured the junta's point-377 base near Myeik Wa village in Paletwa township, 151 soldiers fled to the Indian side.


Later they were brought back to Myanmar by the junta forces.

 

On 2 January,  the AA captured Khamaungwa military base in Paletwa. Till date, the AA has taken control of 21 military bases, including three tactical operation command bases belonging to the junta in Paletwa locality.

 

The MDF reported that on last Tuesday, the AA and MDF successfully captured Chin Let Wa (Salyutla) tactical operation command base in Mara region of Paletwa.
