Over 100 junta soldiers deployed in Kyaukphyu as reinforcement



The military junta has been  reinforcing forces in Kyaukphyu, where the Chinese projects are located, with over 100 soldiers transported by two airplanes, said a local eyewitness.

 

Narinjara News came to know that on 5 March between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm, two military cargo planes transported those soldiers to reinforce through Kyaukphyu airport.

 

"They are from the Hmawbi and Naypyidaw special operations team. More than 100 junta soldiers were sent by the military cargo planes, which landed at Kyaukphyu airport,” added the eyewitness.

 

The soldiers were sent  to Kyaukphyu-based 542nd light infantry battalion and 34th infantry battalion.

 

The conflict erupted on 12 February near Hnget Pyaw Chaung village under  Kulabar village-tract, situated around seven miles away from Kyaukphyu, and it continued for more than two days.

 

The  military forces launched airstrikes and fired artillery shells from both the navy and battalion units. According to military sources, a number of soldiers were killed and many injured in the clash.
