The military council is discussing with
Bangladesh for a direct flight, said a report of BETV, a business news site .

Aung Kyaw Moe, Myanmar's ambassador in Bangladesh, discussed direct flights with
Mahbubul Alam, the president of Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce
and Industry (FBCCI), in Dhaka during a meeting on 14 October.
Aung
Kyaw Moe informed that Myanmar was interested in introducing direct flights to
Bangladesh.
FBCCI
president also stated that Bangladesh wanted to improve trades with Myanmar and
hence it’s emphasizing on strengthening trade relations between the two
countries.
He
added that both countries have many potential sectors, but those are yet to be
utilized properly. Once materialised, both the countries will be economically
benefited even though problems like the Rohingya Muslim refugee issue continue,
he asserted.
Bangladesh
products like leather items, ready to wear clothes, medicines, porcelain jutes etc have a good
reputation in the global market and Myanmar can import those items, stated Mahbubul Alam.
Myanmar primarily exports various
agricultural products like rice, onion, spices to Bangladesh.
The
FBCCI has invited entrepreneurs of Myanmar to visit their country and invest in
the special economic zones.
There
was a direct flight from Bangladesh to Myanmar where Biman used to fly, but the
service was closed as it incurred a huge loss before the corona disaster.
