Three local Muslims including two young people were fatally shot dead by some terrorists belonging to Arakan
Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) at Tat
Ma Chaung (Muslim) village under Buthidaung township of Rakhine State.
At around 8 pm on 8 January, five masked ARSA members came to
Tat Ma Chaung (Muslim) village and
started gun firing, said the residents.
"They ARSA entered the village during the night hours.
Three villagers lost their lives on the spot and three others sustained injuries,"
said an unidentified individual.
The victims have been identified as Amir Kane (30 years old), Amir Nouh Lone
(18) and Mahmoud Jubai (15).
Moreover, 100 houses group elder Abu Kar Laung (52), Nouha Kane (23) and
Salamar Khan (40) were injured and they were shifted to Buthidaung hospital.
Earlier on 31 December, Tat Ma Chaung villagers detained ARSA membmer
Mawlawi Uli along with an unidentified person and both were handed over to the
353rd light infantry battalion under the 15th military operations command
(MOC-15).
Some residents suspect that the ARSA got dissatisfied with the villagers'
actions and hence they retaliated by shootings at Tat Ma Chaung village.
