ULA Provides About 25 Million Kyats in Assistance to 121 Families in Myeik Wa Village on the Indian Border

 The United League of Arakan/Arakan Army (ULA/AA) provided 24,986,500 Myanmar Kyats and rice rations to 121 families from Myeik Wa village in the Paletwa region, located near the Indian border.

 

The assistance was provided by the United League of Arakan (ULA) on January 24, 2024, offering 206,500 Myanmar Kyats and 73 cans of rice per household, as stated in the (ULA/AA) press release.

 


In the Paletwa region, Myeik Wa village-tract, Myeik Wa village, a total of 136 families had fled the conflict to India and Rakhine State since August 2022. As of now, only 121 families have returned to their homeland.

 

The remaining households are residing as internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Kyauktaw and Mrauk-U in Rakhine State, as well as on the Indian side, according to the statement.

 

The United League of Arakan/Arakan Army (ULA/AA), having endured the hardships of war together, is committed to addressing and supporting the people's challenges in post-war rehabilitation activities, as stated in the announcement.

 

Myeik Wa village, situated near the border between India and Myanmar, once housed military junta bases. However, these bases have been captured and are now under the control of the Arakan Army (AA).
