Rakhine woman killed by junta’s artillery shelling in Buthidaung

A woman was reportedly killed by an artillery shell, fired by a junta battalion based in Buthidaung township of Rakhine State.

 

The deceased is identified as Daw Mya Win (36 years old) from Done Chaung (Rakhine) village.

 

A resident of Buthidaung informed Narinjara News that on 30 April, an artillery shell fired by the 234th light infantry battalion exploded in Done Chaung (Rakhine) village.

 

“The battalion fired three artillery shells, with one landing over the village. The shrapnel struck Daw Mya Win's left hand and abdomen resulting in her immediate death," added the resident.

 

The Arakha Army  is launching a series of attacks on all battalions in Buthidaung township, while the junta battalions also responded with the artillery shelling over the villages.
