Fighting between junta forces and AA fighters begins in southern Rakhine

 The gun fighting between the junta forces and ArakhaArmy (AA) fighters begins in the southern part of Rakhine State. The residentsinformed Narinjara News that they could hear the sound of small arms firing andartillery shelling in between Kwayt Chaung and Yae Sin villages under Thandwe township on 13 April in the morning hours.

 

A local military analyst revealed that the war inRakhine has now spread to the southern localities. Meanwhile, the junta hasclosed the road between Thandwe and Tungup all of a sudden.

 

The gunshots were reported at around 5 am andcontinued till 6:30 am. The residents now feel worried and refrain from comingoutside for even works.

 

"The gunfire was heard on the path over themountain between Kwayt Chaung and Yae Sin villages. Now the villagers remaininside their residences,” said a local resident.

 

Kwayt Chaung and Yae Sin villages are situated on theThandwe-Taungup road in between Shwe Hlay village and Thandwe township. Nearly40 junta soldiers were stationed at the Yae Sin intersection for about twomonths.

 

"The soldiers suspected that some  AAfighters were coming to the localities. Previously, they carried out militaryoperations in the mountain villages connecting the Yae Sin junction," saida villager.

 

Narinjara News continues searching for authenticateinformation about the gun fighting.

Currently, the soldiers are checking the pedestrians at the intersection of Yae Sin road. A military vehicle and apolice car were also observed in the area those went towards Yae Sin village.
