The Rakhine people have provided assistance to a Muslim youth as well as a Muslim woman, whose husband and son were killed by juntas airstrikes at Ah Pauk Wa village under  Kyauktaw township of Rakhine State.

"Our friends and family members provided assistance to those, who lost their limbs due to junta’s artillery shells and airstrikes in our region," said Rakhine singer Shwe Lu, who leads the initiative.

While there are some conflicts in Buthidaung and Maungdaw regions of Rakhine State, nothing is relevant with the local Muslim residents in Kyauktaw and other Rakhine majority areas. A greater sense of friendship and harmony is observed in these areas.

The Rakhine people provided a pair of crutches and Kyats 50,000 to  a young Muslim man from Ah Pauk Wa village under Kyauktaw locality, who lost his leg in the airstrikes. They also donated Kyats 50,000 to a Muslim woman, who lost her husband and 17-year-old son in the airstrikes.

"No discrimination based on race or religion is maintained. Providing assistance carries the same meaning. A garden isn't complete with just one type of flower," said the singer.

The singer-led group continues  assisting individuals in need of crutches and those who have lost limbs due to the airstrikes.

Philanthropists have praised the noble act of helping the people without discrimination, especially amidst the military junta's efforts to fuel ethnic conflicts in the Rakhine region.
